#MFXTOP February Week 1 & updates for the future.

Thanks Again

I just want to start with another huge thanks to everyone who entered, retweeted and voted in last month's competition.

I'm also super happy to see that the "HYPE TRAIN" has carried on into February.

Let's do this.

Week 1 Entries

So we start where we left off,

Some reminders

For those that need a reminder of the rules or are new to #MFXTOP please, check out previous posts and the "Announcing..." one in particular (http://malibros.blogspot.co.uk/2014/01/announcing.html for laziness).

This month's theme is "Shoot 'em up" where your entry needs both the Sh and Gun (ranged icon).

VOTING: Everyone, people have or have not entered, are able to vote when voting opens!

The Future

I am always happy to receive any and all feedback about #MFXTOP, this blog, the podcast, my life, whatever.

For the blog, a few people asked for me to actually stick all photos into one post to look at when voting opens, I will do this the end of this month.

Next thing was about multiple entries.

I, obviously, do not want to discourage people painting and getting on with more hobby, in fact, inspiration and motivation is the name of the game (well technically it's Malifaux).

Last month @Uberspoons Mr Matthew Spooner entered 2 entries, I stated then, that his 2nd entry would replace his 1st.

After multiple cock ups, which I apologise for, I never actually took away his first photo, but it wasn't in the list at the end.

I still only want it to be one entry each, but my way around it will be as follows:

• You can enter a single entry each week.
• This means, each week you can be in this, the Tuesday post.
• By the last week (4 or 5 depending on month) you will have to decide which is your final entry
• If you do not inform me (@psientologist use the #MFXTOP) then your last entry will be the one I use when it goes to voting.

Don't forget I am constantly tweeting from @TheMalibros and typically @psientologist, so never be afraid to hit me up with questions, photos, or just if you want to send me presents.

The last bit, which will be "tested" in the upcoming weeks.

I will be using a poll to do the vote recording.

I did like using Twitter as my source for doing everything, I didn't think about all the logistics.

First, the hashtag with number does work, but people could easily use the wrong one or use it mentioning someone they were not even voting for.

Counting votes this way, was also a nightmare, now I must admit there were less votes than I expected, but it was still a nightmare.

Shout outs to @AaronBailey17 for helping me count them (after I just wrecked him on Vassal :-P).

Also, it could have been easy to miscount, which would've been terrible if someone didn't win because of it!

Finally, I aim to get the rules, written out simpler and easier to access.

Linking an old post every month or week, is not the most efficient way of doing things.
